It's time to take a little trip around the world! We have some fantastic projects to share by Judith Beattie and Anneke De Clerck using the World Map Background Stamp:
We have been wanting to create a World Map Background Stamp for so long! In our home dining room we have a monster sized vintage world map on the wall and often we'll spend our dinners talking about different areas of the world. I love maps and geography and knew this stamp would not only be useful for all sorts of travel projects but with it's delicate fine lines would also make a great stamp to add little extra patterns to plain embellishments.
Let's take a look at what Judith and Anneke have created:
Details from Judith:
Starting off with plain white cardstock I inked it with colours from Ranger Distress Inks. Firstly I added a layer of Antique Linen then Tea Dye and finally Vintage Photo. The World Map was stamped with Walnut Stain.
I cut out the image and distressed the edges. The Wilderness Wordstrips provided lots inspiration. I cut out individual words and distressed the edges then inked them with Walnut Stain.
The string was fun to work with and I inked it with Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.
After setting the eyelets into the Bazzill cardstock and threading thestring I added a Tim Holtz Game Spinner and Tim Holtz Philosophy Tag tothe World Map image. It was then stuck it to the Bazzill. I usedMagic Mount foam to raise the words above the image.

Details from Anneke:
Here I stamped the 'World Map' stamp on a Distress Ink background with Archival Ink 'Cobalt'.
Made the birds with a foam stamp by Prima. Stamped with Distress Ink 'Pumice Stone' and 'Seedless Preserves'. Overstamped the birds with a text out of the Christmas Reindeer set.

This world map is a perfect background for a Christmas card to an overseas blog friend :)
I colored the houses (Tim Holtz Alterations Die 'Townscape') with Distress Ink 'Festive Berries'. Added some glitter with Perfect Pearls water. Stamped on the houses with a text from the Christmas Reindeer set.
The snow on the roof is made with a Versamark pen and white embossing powder.
Marked the countries of sender and receiver with the eraser of my pencil and Distress Ink..

This bird is the perfect gift for a globetrotter.
Drawed a bird twice, cut it out and colored it with Distress Inks. Did some stamping with the 'World Map' stamp and Archival Ink 'Cobalt'.
Glued the 2 birds to each other and sandwiched this photo holder in between.
Made the 'globetrotter' text with the computer.

On Pinterest I notice 'places I've been' boards. I made a book instead of a board, to remember the places I've been to. For the front cover I used the World Map Background Stamp. Did the stamping with StazOn 'Jet Black' and colored the map with Golden Fluid Acrylics. To finish it off I added a thin layer of gesso on top.
For the front and back cover I covered cardboard with patterned paper.
Supplies:
World Map Background Stamp
Tour Eiffel Stamp set
Darkroom Door London Montage
Darkroom Door London Wordstrips & Filmstrips
Golden Fluid Acrylics: Cobalt Teal, Green Gold, Turquois (Phthalo)
Distress Inkpads: Evergreen Bough, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers
Felt characters out of my stash.
Pages inside: First I stuck alphabet stickers to the pages. Aftersponging the colored strips with Distress Ink I removed the stickers.
Added some Filmstrips, Wordstrips and Montage images along with some stamps.
What a fabulous assortment of projects! We'd like to say a HUGE thank you to Judith and Anneke for sharing their talents with us today!
I hope you have all enjoyed seeing these projects using the World Map Background Stamp!
