Hi there! Today we are taking a walk on the wild side with lots of creative projects using the Wilderness Word Block Stamp!
Belinda Spencer has created three textured projects, perfect for the Wilderness theme!
Instructions:
1. Apply the Wilderness Word Block Stamp onto smooth cream cardstock using Potting Soil Ranger Archival Ink.
2. Use an ink blending tool to rub in some Gathered Twigs Tim Holtz Distress Ink.
3. Distress the edges and ink with Walnut Stain Tim Holtz Distress Ink.
4. Paint on some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in Steampunk Sepia just around the area where the Wilderness Filmstrip piece will be.
5. Add a piece of burlap to the back of this piece.
6. Apply the Tree Bark Background Stamp to another piece of smooth cream cardstock. Apply Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. Distress the edges, ink and stick down on a kraft card base.
7. Add the burlap and word block piece on top. Coil some twine and glue down on the left hand side.
8. Tear an image from the Wilderness Vol. 1 Filmstrip. Ink with Gathered Twigs and apply the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals over the top. Once dry, glue down in the twine circle.
9. Add some chipboard pieces as well as a sentiment from the Wilderness Wordstrip.
Here are a couple more projects created in the same fashion.
Robyn Wood shows how you can use a watercolour effect for the background:
Australia has many beautiful wilderness areas and we have been blessed to have visited some of them with our family. This stamp sparks many wonderful memories and makes me want to wander in the wilderness again.
Instructions:
Stamp the Wilderness Word Block onto watercolour card using Versamark ink and heat emboss with white powder. Trim closely. Watercolour different parts of the image using green, blue and indigo and allow the colours to spread and pool before leaving to dry. Mat with complementary shades of green and blue cardstock and add an image from the Wilderness Montage sheet. Tie with twine, add a metal word charm then mount onto black card base to finish.
Instructions:
Stamp forest scene from Wilderness Vol 1 stamp set twice along the long edge of tag using Tree Branch Archival ink. Sponge foreground with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink then sponge Squeezed Lemonade through the trees and Broken China across the top to give the impression of grass and sky. Select an image from the Wilderness Photochip set and sponge the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink and add to tag at an angle. A mottled alcohol ink background is a great base for some unique wording for the tag. Create by sponging gloss cardstock with Willow, Lettuce and Latte alcohol ink. Stamp with Wilderness Word Block using black Archival ink and trim out approx. five words or phrases that catch your eye. Add the wording to the right hand side of the Photochip image and finish tag with some ribbon.
Lastly, a quick card by Rachel Greig:
Instructions:
1. Stamp Wilderness Word Block Stamp onto cream card using Sepia Archival Ink Pad. Tear the edges and sponge with the same ink.
2. Stamp the fern leaf from Wilderness Vol 2 Rubber Stamp set over the Word Block using Olive Archival Ink.
3. Adhere stamped panel onto green cardstock and distress the edges Curl them over to create some dimension and texture. Adhere to folded brown card.
4. Stamp Wilderness Word Block again onto cream cardstock and trim out the word 'Wilderness'. Mount onto green cardstock and sponge around the edges with Sepia Archival Ink. Adhere over the background using foam adhesive.
