Hello Darkroom Door fans! Belinda Spencer here today to share some projects with you featuring the stunning new Tropical Flowers Rubber Stamp Set using my favourite watercolour stamping technique.
Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of smooth white cardstock 15cm x 22cm. Fold in half to form the card base.
2. Cut a piece of smooth white cardstock 10.5cm x 14.5cm. Apply Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to the Woodgrain Background Stamp. Give a very light mist of water from a spray bottle and stamp on the white cardstock piece. Ink the edges with the Picked Raspberry ink and stick down on the card base.
3. Cut another piece of smooth white cardstock 9.5cm x 13.5cm. Apply Carved Pumpkin Distress ink to one of the stamps from the Watery Washes Stamp set. Spritz with water and apply to this piece. Use a soft wet paintbrush to blend the ink in the stamped image a little more. Repeat this process once more and then dry with a heat gun. Use the same technique to apply the spotty stamp in the set to the background using both the Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry inks. Stick down on the card front.
4. On a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp the large hibiscus from the Tropical Flowers Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival Ink. Press the Picked Raspberry Stamp Pad onto an acrylic block or heat resistant craft mat. Use the wet paintbrush to pick up the ink and paint onto the stamped flower image. Reapply until you are happy with the depth of colour. Use the paint brush to flick both of the inks across the flower. Dry with a heat gun and then fussy cut.
5. Stamp some butterflies from the Butterflies Stamp Set using the Jet Black ink. Colour the same way as the flower. Dry with a heat gun and then fussy cut.
6. Add some messy orange thread to the card. Stick the flower on top using 3D foam. Glue on the butterflies.
7. Stamp the sentiment on the extra white cardstock using the Jet Black ink. Fussy cut and add to the card using 3D foam
Here are another two cards, created in a similar way, but using the Brushed Sentiments stamp set for the words:

2. Cut a piece of smooth white cardstock 10.5cm x 14.5cm. Apply Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink to the Woodgrain Background Stamp. Give a very light mist of water from a spray bottle and stamp on the white cardstock piece. Ink the edges with the Carved Pumpkin ink and stick down on the card base.
3. Cut another piece of smooth white cardstock 9.5cm x 13.5cm. Apply Wilted Violet Distress Ink to the Plaid Background Stamp. Spritz with a light mist of water and stamp at the bottom of this piece. Spritz a little water onto the rest of this piece. Squish the Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto an acrylic block or heat resistant craft sheet. Use a soft wet paintbrush to pick up the ink and apply to the card to create a watercolour wash of colour on the background. Dry with a heat gun. Ink the edges of this piece using the corresponding inks. Stick down on the card front.
4. On a separate piece of smooth white cardstock, apply the Mini Mason Jar Eclectic Stamp using Jet Black Archival Ink. Fussy cut the jar cutting off the lid. Place a small slit under the rim of the jar to slide the flower stems in.
5. Stamp the Bird of Paradise flowers onto the separate piece of white cardstock using the Jet Black Archival Ink. Squish Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron inks onto the acrylic block/craft sheet and paint the flowers.
6. Ink the leaves from the Tropical Leaves Stamp Set with Distress Inks. Spritz with water and stamp on the separate white cardstock piece. Use the paintbrush to blend the colour on the stamped images. Dry with a heat gun and then fussy cut.
7. Add the leaves and flowers to the mason jar by sliding the stems through the slit created under the rim of the jar. Secure in place using glue. Add 3D foam under the flower heads to make them stand out. Paint the water in the jar using Peacock Feathers ink. Dry with a heat gun. Tie some orange thread around the neck of the jar. Stick down on the card front using 3D foam.
8. Stamp the sentiment on the extra white cardstock using the Jet Black ink. Fussy cut and add to the card using 3D foam.
