Hi there! It's Rachel Greig here with you today, sharing some art journal pages using the latest Texture Stamps. One of the things I love about Texture Stamps is how you can use them to add details and layers to your projects. They can be used in a subtle way, just as a hint in the background, or they can be used as a more dominant part of the page, depending on what your project calls for!
Here I have 6 art journal pages to share, showing how the Texture Stamps can be used in the background, but still bringing detail to the pages.
This first page shows how the Map Texture Stamp creates a vintage background for the page:
Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Map Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Journey Word Block Stamp
Darkroom Door Montmartre Rubber Stamp Set
Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black
Distress Crayons
Distress Inks
Tim Holtz dies
For this next page, I've used the Corrugated Iron Texture Stamp:
Although you may not be able to see it in the photo, the Corrugated Iron was stamped with Brilliance Copper ink so it has a metallic sheen to it. Looks great in real life with the Steampunk theme!
Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Corrugated Iron Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Steampunk Squares Collage Stamp
Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black
Book pages
7Gypises tissue wrap
Distress Crayons
Next up I paired the Alphabet Texture Stamp with the Typewriter Collage Stamp. I like it when layers relate to each other.
Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Alphabet Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Typewriter Collage Stamp
Darkroom Door French Script Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Alphabet Medley Rubber Stamp Set
Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black, Sepia
Distress Inks
Distress Spray Stain: Antiqued Bronze
Tim Holtz Dies
For this next page, I could have used the Alphabet Texture Stamp, it would have worked well with the book theme, but instead I used the Numbers Texture Stamp to go with the 'time' theme of the quote.
I do love how the Coffee Stain Eclectic Stamp adds that extra element - coffee and books together are an ideal combination!
Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Numbers Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door French Script Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Clocks Background Stamp
Darkroom Door Book Stack Photo Stamp
Darkroom Door Bookworm Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Coffee Stain Eclectic Stamp
Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black, Sepia, Coffee
Now for something a bit more colourful! This one uses the Triangles Texture Stamp:
I started this page by collaging old sewing patterns onto the background and noticed the little notches on the pattern. The Triangles Texture Stamp follows that idea.
Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Triangles Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Stitched Borders Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Art de Fleur Vol 2 Rubber Stamp Set
Distress Oxide ink pads
Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black
Lastly, here's a page using the Postage Stamps Texture Stamp:
I went with a letter theme for this one, perfect for the Postage Stamps!
Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Postage Stamps Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Criss Cross Background Stamp
Darkroom Door Chevron Background Stamp
Darkroom Door French Script Background Stamp
Darkroom Door Love Letters Vol 2 Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Ornate Elements Rubber Stamp Set
Dina Wakley Paints
Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black, Sepia, Coffee
Distress Inks
Waterbrush
Hope you have enjoyed these ideas! Thanks so much for stopping by!
