Hi, Godelieve Tijskens here, sharing 2 cards I made using the Small Starry Night Stencil.
On the first card I used the stencil to create a starry background.
I have chosen Carved Pumpkin and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks to sponge a background onto smooth watercolor paper. I applied several layers to get intense colors. I used my heat tool to dry the ink completely before the next step.
I switched colors to sponge the stars through the Small Starry Night stencil using mini ink blending tools.
To cut the tag I used a Sizzix die.
Words and brushes from the Artist Palette stamp set were stamped with black Archival ink onto the tag. I inked the edges with black ink and attached black ribbon and twine to the top. The starry background was glued onto a white card. To put the tag in place I used 3D foam tape.
Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Small Stencil: Starry Night
Darkroom Door Stamp Set: Artist Palette
Distress Oxide Inkpads: Carved Pumpkin, Evergreen Bough
Archival Inkpad: Jet Black
Mini Ink Blending Tools
Sizzix Die: Tim Holtz Alterations Tag & Tie
On this next card I used the stencil to create a starry sky.
First I applied light modeling paste using the small Mesh stencil and a plastic card. I avoided the top left corner, for the stars. After the paste had dried I applied a coat of gesso. I painted this piece with Dylusions Paints Chopped Pesto and Periwinkle Blue.
While the paint was still wet I have put the Small Starry Night stencil in place and used a baby wipe to lift the paint in the top left corner through the stencil. Gesso makes it easy to lift the paint.
The car and words from the Classic Cars set were stamped with black Archival ink. I heat embossed these with clear embossing powder. Archival ink can be embossed if you work quickly. The car was cut out, and adhered to the background with 3D foamtape. The panel got a black mat, and was glued onto a white card.
