Hi there! It’s Rachel Greig here and today I’d like to share 4 cards using the latest Photo Stamps! We have now released over 40 different Photo Stamps, giving you lots of options for creating unique cards!
The Photo Stamps are sized to fit onto a 6”x4” card front (or similar), with a little room for matting or adding layers and embellishments onto the card, while keeping the Photo Stamp image large for maximum impact. You can keep the card simple by just using the stamp with no embellishments, like I have done here with there Woodlands Photo Stamp:
For this card I stamped the Woodlands Photo Stamp onto an alcohol ink background using Archival Jet Black ink. It makes a quick and easy card!
You can also dress up the images with a few embellishments:
I first stamped the Boat Shed Photo Stamp onto gloss paper using Archival Jet Black ink, then coloured with light Distress Inks. Adhere the stamped image to a piece of embossed cardstock. Wrap some hessian/burlap around the left side of the image and attach a couple of vintage seaside charms using a jump ring. Attach a Tim Holtz Idea-ology compass to the right side of the image. Adhere entire panel to a folded Kraft card.
The Crayon Resist technique is fun to use with Photo Stamps too, like I have done here with the Farm Truck Photo Stamp:
Stamp the Farm Truck Photo Stamp onto white cardstock with Archival Jet Black ink. Colour in the image with a white crayon where you’d like the image to remain white. I coloured the headlights, windows, side tray and little highlights on the truck and wheels. Then sponge different colours of Distress Inks over the image using an ink blending tool. The Distress ink is a waterbed ink and will resist the wax crayon, leaving the crayon areas white. Trim the image and adhere to black cardstock. Wrap linen ribbon around the right side and tie at the front. Stamp the Criss Cross Background Stamp onto a Kraft card base with Coffee Archival Ink. Adhere stamped panel to the front to complete!
Another great technique to try is watercolouring with Distress Inks, like I have done here on the Summer Oasis Photo Stamp:
Stamp the Summer Oasis Photo Stamp onto mixed media cardstock with Archival Jet Black ink. Swipe some Distress Ink pads directly onto an acrylic block and pick up the ink with a waterbrush to colour in the image. Repeat as needed to colour the entire image however you wish! Stamp the Lazy Days sentiment from Seaside Vol 1 Stamp Set in the top right corner with Archival Jet Black ink. Stamp the Shells Background Stamp onto a Kraft card base with Sepia Archival Ink. Adhere to the left side of the card with a stapler or large brads. Adhere stamped panel to the front to complete!
