This week we have lots of projects from the Creative Team to share using the Love Birds stamp set! Here's a look at the stamps:
We've had lots of requests over the years for a bird theme stamp set, and finally here it is! We released this is August and it's already one of the most popular stamp sets from this current release. There's so much to love from this set - the bird cage, the little birdies that can be placed inside, the love birds huddling together, the cute little robin bird... etc etc!
Today we're sharing a mini mini book by Sarah.
It's a super cute mini book that fits into the palm of your hand!
Darkroom Door Products used:
* Love Birds Stamp set
* French Script background stamp.
* Tree branch from Yuletide Vol 2 stamp set.
* Distress Inks (Brushed Corduroy, Shabby Shutters, Dried Marigold, Barn Door, Broken China).
* Foam blending tool
Details from Sarah:
My mini hinge book is 2.5" tall and 2" wide. I used a hinge that you can buy from a hardware store or the hardware section of a discount store.
The pages are created by cutting a long strip of bazzill cardstock, and scoring and folding it into a concertina and attaching it to the hinge. The front and back cover pieces are made from chipboard which I covered with white paper that had been coloured with distress inks. Once covered, I did the stamping with black ink.
The inside pages were made by cutting small white piece of paper, inking them with distress inks, and stamping with Jet Black and Timber Brown Stazon ink. On the first page I stamped the French script background stamp n the background with distress ink before I stamped the bird and nest images.
I coloured the eggs and the eyes with a white gel pen. The birds were coloured using distress inks and an aquash pen.
All pages were stamped with the tree branch from the Yuletide Vol 2 stamp set.
I coloured the brass hinge using alcohol inks to take away some of the bright sheen.
Isn't this such a cute book!
Sarah would like to share it with one of our blog readers... so if you'd like to win this little mini book by Sarah, leave a comment here and tell us what your favourite stamp is from the Love Birds stamp set!
