Horse Photo Stamp project ideas

21 November 2012

Happy Wednesday stampers! Today we have some great projects to share with you using the Horse Photo Stamp!

DDPS017

This stamp has so much detail - perfect for colouring with Marvy Le Plume Pens, Distress Markers, or Copics. Or you could stamp it onto coloured backgrounds such as distress backgrounds or alcohol ink backgrounds. We have projects by Rachel Greig, Robyn Wood and Melissa Phillips. Let's take a look:

DDPS017_RachelGreig

Stamp the Horse on white gloss card with Archival Jet Black ink. Colour with Marvy Le Plume pens. Mount onto green then walnut cardstock. Wrap with twine. Add photo corners and adhere to card with foam adhesive.

  • The background is made by applying some greentoned distress & Adirondack dye inks to a craft mat, spritzing with waterand dragging the card stock through the colour. Allow to dry.
  • Stamp Horse Photo Stamp using black Rangerarchival ink.
  • Cut a piece of green cardstock approx. 12 x 13cm and tear the right hand edge to make it square.  Attach image to left hand side.
  • Ink a piece of cheesecloth scrap with green& brown distress stains and attach to right hand side of cardstock. Tiewith twine.
  • Stamp 'all good things..' from Wilderness Vol 1stamp set and sponge lightly with distress antique linen. Mat with dark green cardstock and attach with foam tape.
  • Mount onto a 14 x 14 cm dark brown card base.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Stamp Horse Photo Stamp onto smooth kraftcoloured cardstock (I used recycled wrapping paper) using black ink. Trim to 2 ¼” x 3 ¼” and mount onto blackcardstock 2 ½” x 3 ½”.
  • Select a word from the Wilderness wordstip, layer with black cardstock and mount onto the ATC with foam tape.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Make an alcohol ink background using a mix oflight browns and creams.
  • Stamp Horse Photo Stamp using black Rangerarchival ink.  If any areas of the imageneed retouching with colour, use distress markers.
  • Mount image on green cardstock and then ontobeige card (tear bottom) with foam tape. A light brown cardstock is used for the card base.
  • The card is finished with a word from theWilderness wordstip.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DDPS017_RobynWood_4

  • Make an alcohol ink background using a mix oflight browns and gold metallic mixative.
  • Stamp Horse Photo Stamp using black Rangerarchival ink.  If any areas of the imageneed retouching with colour, use distress Markers. Trim image to a square.
  • Tear the top from some corregated cardboard toexpose the texture. Distress with whitepaint, brown paint, brown distress crackle paint and brown distress ink. Dry between each colour to prevent thecolours from getting muddy.
  • Tie some cord around one end of the cardboardpanel and mount at an angle onto a green card base.
  • Add the horse image and a word from AwesomeWordblock stamp.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Make a background by using an acrylic blockwhich is roughly the size of the photo stamp and ink roughly with distress inksin shabby shutters, tumbled glass & gathered twigs.  You need to cover the block and it is good tomimic the placement of the images in the stamp with colour if possible. Spritzlightly with water and 'stamp' onto paper. Allow to dry. Depending on how theacrylic block was inked, there may be uncoloured patches on the card but thatgets fixed once the image is stamped.
  • Stamp Horse Photo Stamp using black Rangerarchival ink.
  • Colour areas of the image as needed withdistress pens or sponge with distress ink.
  • Stamp Regal Frame Stamp using Brilliance blackink and emboss with clear powder.
  • The frame is coloured with tarnished brassdistress stain.  The stain will onlycolour the white areas, so wipe off the excess with a tissue. Cut out the frame& mount over trimmed horse image.
  • Card base is light blue cardstock with a tornstrip on the left hand side. The strip is embellished with a torn piece from anold dictionary.
  • A word from Full Bloom wordstrips finishes thecard.
