Hello, it's Robyn with you today sharing a pair of cards using the Brushed Christmas Vol 2 Rubber Stamps Set. For the first card I've used a double embossing technique where the image is stamped with a pigment ink then partially embossed with coloured powder. A second embossing step give the baubles a clear coat which adds shine and a beautiful depth to the colours of the first layer. The baubles almost look like they are enamelled metal. Try it out with powders of other colours for different effects!
1. Stamp three baubles from Brushed Christmas Vol 2 using Pearlescent Sky Blue pigment ink onto white cardstock. Trim closely.
2. Ink baubles with VersaMark clear ink and emboss with Stampendous Aged Aqua embossing enamel. Sprinkle the powder so that parts of the blue ink are visible.
3. Ink baubles with VersaMark clear ink and emboss with clear powder.
4. Stamp Season's Greetings onto white cardstock using black pigment ink and emboss with clear powder. Separate word and trim closely. Mount onto dark blue card stock.
5. Assemble card using lengths of ribbon to give the baubles something to 'hang' from. Add a gold brad to each bauble.
6. The baubles are affixed to white cardstock, layered with pale blue than attached to a white card front.
7. Add layered greeting using foam tape.
For the second card I've gone a step further and added extra layers of embossing powder and used one of the word stamps in the set to stamp into the bauble.
1. Stamp three baubles from Brushed Christmas Vol 2 using Pearlescent Sky Blue pigment ink onto white cardstock. Trim closely.
2. Ink baubles with VersaMark clear ink and emboss with Stampendous Aged Aqua embossing enamel. Sprinkle the powder so that all parts of the bauble are well covered.
3. While the embossing powder is still hot, carefully sprinkle with a second layer of embossing enamel and heat until melted. Repeat this step to add a third layer of powder.
4. Coat the Noel word with Versamark clear pigment ink and reheat the bauble until the embossed layers are molten, quickly press the stamp into the molten powder and leave in place until the bauble is cool. If the impression doesn't work so well, repeat the step.
5. Colour the debossed part of the bauble with blue Gelatos.
6. Mount bauble onto a square of white cardstock and add a bow.
7. Stamp a greeting using Archival Forget-Me-Not ink and assemble card as shown.
Hints:
• Watch your fingers during the embossing steps – the bauble can get hot so use tweezers!
• Shake the Stampendous powder before using to distribute all of the different sized particles in the powder.
• For best results, heat the Stampendous powder gently from underneath as the tiny particles tend to blow away a little.
• Try adding bows to each of the baubles for the first card if you have the time, it will give an elegant look.
