Hi there! It's Rachel Greig here today sharing an art journal page using the Scratched Alphabet Rubber Stamp Set with Distress Inks and a Dylusions Journaling Block.
Create Your Own Sunshine Journal Page
My idea for this page was to create a rainbow of colour using Distress Inks, starting from lighter shades through to the darker shades in one colour range. I chose warm colours - yellows, oranges and reds.
To create the sections, I traced the Dylusions Journaling Block to draw the lines in pencil, then sponged a colour of Distress Ink in each different section. From top to bottom the colours I used were: Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon and Rusty Hinge. Looking at them now, they aren't necessarily in lightest to darkest, but I kind of like how the Dried Marigold strip does break up the darker yellows and reds either side of it.
Next step I drew a line of gold (using a gold Posca Paint Pen) over the Journaling Block pencil lines, then stamped the quote using the Scratched Alphabet Rubber Stamp Set with Jet Black Archival Ink.
The sun at the top was drawn freehand and coloured in with Distress Crayons. The gold lines were also outlined with black pen and filled in with different styles of doodling.
