We have some fab samples to share with you today using the Alphabet Background Stamp!
This alphabet stamp is just like the Numbers Background where you can use it either vertically or horizontally. The letters are mixed up in different sizes and can be used as a wholebackground or you can also cut out the letters to be used by themselves. This stamp would also look fantastic in melted ultra thick embossingpowder as a texture. So many ideas!!
Teresa Abajo and Irene Tan have some great projects to share. Let's take a look:
I wanted to create a drop shadow effect background for this card. I stamped the Alphabet Background stamp with Blue Violet Archival ink first, and then stamped it over the top in Jet Black ink just slightly offset. I'll admit I didn't get it right the first time (or the second or third if truth be told!), and in hindsight this would have been a little easier with the help of a stamp positioner.
The Music Photochip was cut with a Spellbinder die, and the large purple flower is from Prima. The words come from the Music Wordstrip.

I started this card off by spreading a thin layer of gesso onto some canvas paper. I needed something stronger than just cardstock because of all the paints and art medium I wanted to add. I then stamped the Alphabet background stamp into the wet gesso, and left it overnight to dry.
Once the gesso was dry, I used some Distress Stain (Old Paper), acrylic paints and some Glimmermists to add colour. The liquid media settle into the troughs created by the stamp, creating dark and light areas. I used the same sprays to colour the flowers.
Once the paints and sprays had dried, I sponged over it all with some Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to highlight the texture. Then I stamped the words from the Enjoy Life stamp set onto a scrap of paper
from a Prima Romance Novel 6x6 pad, and assembled the card.

The Alphabet Background makes a perfect backdrop for a boy card. Here I have stamped it onto some acetate, and popped it in the window of some cardstock painted and embossed to look like tread plate.
The paper in the background was painted with acrylic paint smeared with a credit card, and the skater boy (from the Skater stamp set) was coloured with Copic markers.

Technique on creating the resist textured background:
1) Use some white gesso and randomly spread it over the alphabet background stamp. To get a more distressed textured effect, do not covered it evenly. Stamp it onto a cardstock.
2) When the gesso is dry, apply some water based inks onto it using a sponge or you can mist onto it. Use a few different colors to creae a more interested effect.
3) Lightly, use a wet wipe and wipe off any inks on top of areas with gesso.
4) To create more depth to it, I've also use a black solvent ink and the alphabet background stamp to stamp on it.

For my card I stamped the Alphabet Background onto white cardstock with Distress Embossing ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then rubbed Distress Stains over the top using Mustard Seed, Barn Door and Faded Jeans which turned green when blended with the other colours. To finish the card I used the Robot Montage and Wordstrip!
So there's a few different ideas using the Alphabet Background Stamp! Hope you've enjoyed them! A big thanks to Irene and Teresa for sharing their projects with us too :)
Wishing you all a creative weekend!
