I love Distress Oxides, especially using them with a stencilled or stamped gesso background on kraft card. The colours show up slightly differently on the gessoed areas.
Stamp the leaf from the Fine Leaves stamp set in gesso onto kraft cardstock. When dry dip into Distress Oxides that have been rubbed onto a craft mat and spritzed. I used about 5 colours. Build up layers until you're happy.
Colour a panel of white card with some of the same Distress Oxides - I used Broken China, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade. Splat with water and blot. Stamp the quote in black over the top. Then add twiddly bits - brads, wired beads, fibres, doodling etc.
The next two projects use similar techniques. I like stamping repeatedly all over the cardstock to build up a background. Then use the same stamp as your focal point and it all ties in together. It's an especially useful technique if you only want to use one stamp.
Stamp the Along The Way Quote Stamp repeatedly onto a glossy cardstock panel in several different colours - I used VersaFine Clair inks, but you could also use Distress inks. Add black edging and scratchy lines with a credit card.
Use some of the same inks to colour a background panel of glossy card and stamp quote over the top. Add black edging.
You get an impression of the whole image with odd details (in this case words) jumping out at you.
Similar technique here, except colour the glossy card first and then stamp over in same colour inkpads not quite as many times as before. Die cut quote panel coloured with cotton wool balls to add texture.
