Hi, it’s Belinda Spencer here today to share three cards I have created using the fabulous new Giraffe Background Stamp and using a watercolour effect with Distress Inks.
Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of smooth white cardstock 10cm x 14.5cm. Apply Brushed Corduroy, Rusty Hinge and Wild Honey Distress Inks onto the Giraffe Background Stamp to create an ombre effect. (ie. darkest colour at the top, lightest colour at the bottom). Spritz with a very light mist of water. Stamp on the cardstock. Use a wet paintbrush to ‘smooth out’ the stamped image. This also adds to the watercolour effect. Allow to dry.
2. Use an ink blending tool to apply the Wild Honey ink to this piece bringing it almost all the way in from the sides. Next apply the Rusty Hinge ink but not bringing it in quite as far. Finally apply the Brushed Corduroy ink just on the edges. Distress the edges and apply the Brushed Corduroy ink again.
3. Stamp the filmstrip from the Photography Rubber Stamp Set three times onto smooth white cardstock using Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink. Fussy cut all three images. Once the black ink is dry, apply some Rusty Hinge ink with the ink blending tool. Arrange the three filmstrips and staple together. Staple or tape them to the giraffe background piece.
4. On smooth white cardstock and using the Jet Black ink, stamp the giraffe, hoof prints and sentiments from the Wild Africa Vol. 1 Stamp Set as well as three stars from the Stars Stamp Set. Fussy cut all images. Add all images to the card with 3D foam as well as a coil of black wire thread or twine.
5. Cut a piece of black cardstock 15cm x 21cm. Fold in half to form the card base. Attach the card front to the base.

The giraffe seems to be a popular image for baby toys and clothing so I was inspired to create two cute baby cards. They were both created in the same way but using different inks for a girl and boy card.
Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of smooth white cardstock 10cm x 14.5cm. Apply Picked Raspberry Tim Holtz Distress Ink to the Giraffe Background Stamp. Spritz lightly with water and stamp onto the cardstock. Use a wet paintbrush to blend the ink on the stamped images and to create a watercolour look.
2. Use the Picked Raspberry ink to stamp the giraffe, hearts and quotes onto smooth white cardstock. Allow the ink to dry and then fussy cut each image.
3. Punch a 2” circle from white cardstock and glue onto a crochet doily. Add to the card front.
4. Add all other images using 3D foam behind some to create extra dimension.
5. Cut another piece of white cardstock 15cm x 21cm. Fold in half to form the card base. Attach the card front to the base.
