Darkroom Door - Saturday, February 06, 2010

Creative Team members Godelieve and Michelle have created two different cards using the Venetian Gondolas Photo Stamp... check them out:

Here's Godelieve's card:

Darkroom Door Supplies:
Venetian Gondolas Photo Stamp
Venetian Wordstrip
Venetian Vol 1 & Ornate Elements Rubber Stamps (for the envelope)

Notes from Godelieve:

I stamped the photo stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
The stamped image and wordstrip are colored with Ranger Distress Inks
A small piece of cardstock, embossed in the Cuttlebug is used at the right hand side.

I decorated the envelope with a stamped border from the Ornate Elements set and the gondola from the Venetian Vol 1 stamp set.

Great card Godelieve! Love the embossing and coloring of the image and Wordstrip!!

Here's Michelle's card:

Darkroom Door Supplies:
Star Background Stamp
Venetian Gondolas Photo Stamp
Wordstrips Prague Vol 2
Distress Ink: Faded Jeans
Marvy Le Plume Pen: Salvia Blue

Other supplies:
Cardstock (blue, white, gloss white)
Versamark
Ribbons
Baby Wipe or Tissues

Instructions:

  • Stamp Venetian Gondolas on gloss cardstock with Versamark ink.
  • Colour over whole surface with Marvy Le Plume pen. Allow to dry.
  • Wipe over surface with baby wipe or tissue. Colour over water and sky again to intensify these areas. Wipe again.
  • Stamp Star Background with Faded Jeans on Blue cardstock. Mat on white and blue cardstock.
  • Adhere Venetian Gondolas onto card and embellish with ribbons and Wordstrip.

Michelle also wanted to mention that she's not sure how the Marvy Pens would react long term from being in contact with baby wipes. An alternative resist method would be to use an inkpad and brayer over the Versamark ink with a water-based inkpad (such as Distress Ink, Adirondack etc)
