Variegated Embossing Junk Journal Page

Darkroom Door - Monday, November 28, 2016

Hello! Autumn Clark back with you to share my second junk journal spread with the new Border Stamps. This time I've used the Star Border Stamp to create a luxurious yet grungy background to set the stage for the Sensational Quote Stamp and my collage bundle.

To create my bundle, I stamped the Sensational Quote Stamp onto vellum and layered over lots of printed papers, bundled strings, torn crocheted lace, embroidered trim, and paper flowers. The result is a lot of visual dimension without bulk.

I used a variety of embossing powders to create a variegated background with beautiful texture. I used dark to light to create an ombre effect. The white embossing has a pop and the dark embossing lends to the moody quality of the pages.

Splashes of gesso, and inks further grunge up the cardboard pages.

I hope you'll take the time to watch this process video. Perhaps you'll be inspired to break out your powders and coordinate your own color combination using your Darkroom Door stamps. Do share with us in the comments section.

I do love your beautiful pages, Autumn! Not only the inks and powders used, but I love how you bundled up those little pieces of paper with trims. The border stamp is awesome and the sentiment stamp is great as well. Another beautiful Autumn creation! Congrats on your guest stint here - amazing inspiration, as always :-) Hugs!
