Stand Tall And Proud Art Journal Page

Darkroom Door - Monday, September 07, 2015
Hi there! It's Rachel here today with a page out of my art journal using lots of Darkroom Door stamps! I use both the small and large Dylusions Journals for my art. This page was in one of the large journals.

Instructions:
1. Apply Ranger Texture Paste through a flower stencil onto a blank page in the journal. Allow to dry.
2. Sponge Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade and Festive Berries Distress Inks over the entire page. Using the same flower stencil, sponge Festive Berries Distress Ink through the stencil to create another 'layer' in the background.
3. Sponge Peeled Paint Distress Ink through the Dina Wakley 'Tracks' stencil over random areas on the page.
4. Stamp French Script Texture Stamp and Fallen Leaves Background Stamp in random areas over the page using second generation inking (by stamping first onto a scrap piece of paper, then onto the art journal page to create a lighter shade of ink).
5. Stamp Carved Leaves Vol 2 Rubber Stamps along the top and bottom edges of the page using Archival Jet Black ink pad. Stamp the bird stack from Carved Birds Vol 1 Rubber Stamps using the same ink.
6. Paint a little square in the centre of the page using Dina Wakley Media White Acrylic Paint. Allow to dry. Stamp quote from Gum Trees Rubber Stamp set using Archival Jet Black ink pad.

Hello! Today we have some projects using the Stamp Quote Stamp! Belinda Spencer has created a pocket scrapbook page using the Stamp Quote Stamp as the starting point, then scrapbooking about her love of craft!

This is a 6" x 4" pocket  insert. Created with the Woodgrain Background Stamp, Everyday Life and Stitched Christmas Rubber Stamps, and of course the Stamp Quote Stamp in the centre. The Words 'The Story' and 'Daily Life' are from the Everyday Life Stamp Set. The borders were created using the Stitched Christmas Stamp Set. See the arrows? They're also from the Everyday Life Stamp Set.

Here is the full scrapbook page:

Paint Tubes Eclectic Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Friday, August 14, 2015
Hi there stampers! Today we have a very colourful set of projects to share with you using the Paint Tubes Eclectic Stamp

Anneke De Clerck has created two cards using the Paint Tubes. Love the use of colour and texture in Anneke's cards!

Instructions:
For this card I used a sheet of used 'underpaper'. That's the paper I put on my worktable while creating, to protect the surface. After finishing a project I end up with a messy sheet of paper filled with paint scraps. Cut a cute part out of your underpaper to use as a background. Stamp a brush and text from Artist Rubber Stamp Set on top with Archival Ink Jet Black. Stamp the paint tubes on white paper, cut out and attach to the card with foam tape. Add details to the tubes and brush with acrylic paint. Attach small strips of painted paper to the card, using mini staples. Stamp parts of the Mesh background stamp with black ink to create a frame. Add details with a white Sharpie.

Instructions:
Paint the background with turquoise and white paint and over-stamp with the Polka Dots Background Stamp and white paint. Stamp the paint tubes on scraps of painted paper, cut out and adhere to the bottom of the card. Curl up the blue tube to imitate a squeezed out paint tube. Stamp the sentiment from String Sentiments Rubber Stamp Set with Archival Ink Jet Black. Stamp inchies from the Artist Rubber Stamp Set on scraps of paper with lime paint and StazOn Ink Teal Blue, cut out and glue in place.

Belinda Spencer has created another vibrant neon card which looks totally fabulous of course!

Instructions:
Cut a piece of watercolour paper to fit a folded black card. Spray with neon mists and allow to run down the paper. Dry with a heat gun and turn the paper up the other way so that the drips are at the top. Apply the Paint Tubes stamp on top of the mist at the bottom of the card. Apply some splats from the Paint Splats Rubber Stamp Set using neon inks. Stamp the paint tubes again onto some smooth white cardstock. Cut out and layer on top of the images on the card. Stamp the labels again on smooth white cardstock this time using various neon inks. Cut out and add to the paint tubes. Add the sentiment and stick down on a black cardstock base.

Teresa Abajo has come up with a fantastic ideas of using the Paint Splats Rubber Stamps pouring out of the Paint Tubes. Love this!

Instructions:
Stamp the Paint Tubes onto whtie cardstock in black ink and cut a couple of them out. Colour them by sponging Distress Inks on them. Stamp and emboss a couple of images from the Paint Splats set onto white cardstock and adhere the tubes over them with foam tape. Stamp a few more paint drops from the Paint Splats set, then mount this piece onto black cardstock, then onto a white card. Stamp and trim part of the Imperfection quote, mount onto black cardstock then onto the card.

Lastly, here's a card by Rachel Greig using the Paint Tubes and the Paint Brushes Eclectic Stamps together:

Instructions:
Create a painted background using Postbox Red and Lemon Zest Dylusion Paints. Stamp over the top using the Paint Brushes Eclectic Stamp and Flourish Background Stamp with Archival Jet Black ink. Create a lighter coloured painted background using Squeezed Orange and Bubblegum Pink Dylusion Paints and stamp the Paint Tubes Eclectic Stamp over the top with Archival Jet Black ink. Mount stamped background onto folded black card. Mount the Paint Tubes onto black card stock and adhere to front of card with 3D foam adhesive.

Penny Farthing Eclectic Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Wednesday, August 12, 2015
Hello! Today we are sharing projects created with the Penny Farthing Eclectic Stamp

Rachel Greig has created a vintage style card:

Instructions:
Stamp Penny Farthing Eclectic Stamp onto cream cardstock using Archival Jet Black ink pad. Sponge around edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Mount onto black cardstock. Emboss kraft cardstock using Sizzix Tim Holtz Collage Embossing Folder and sponge Vintage Photo Distress ink over the raised areas to bring out the detail. Mount onto black cardstock and wrap black ribbon around the bottom. Adhere Penny Farthing panel to the top and adhere entire panel to folded kraft card.

Robyn Wood shows great use of colour with her card:

This card features a masking technique and crayon resist to give a bit of a vintage feel to the image. Masking is made simpler by stamping onto a large sticky note and trimming out the image.

Instructions:
Stamp Penny Farthing onto white card (approx. 9cm x 8cm) using black Archival Ink. Mask the image and overstamp with Scratches Background stamp using Archival Aquamarine ink. Draw over parts of the image with a white crayon to highlight. Sponge the wheels with Mustard Seed Distress ink and around the image with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. Wipe over the areas with crayon to remove excess ink. Distress the edges of the card and sponge with Peacock Feathers Distress ink. Use torn cardstock for layering, firstly with black and then attach to a larger piece of dark yellow cardstock. Tie with twine and attach to a black card front. Embellish with a metal mini gear over the small wheel and use a metal word band as a greeting.

Love how Connie Mercer has combined the Penny Farthing with other Darkroom Door stamps in her cards:

Instructions:
Stamp World Map Background Stamp on white cardstock and trim out.  Adhere to card front. Stamp Criss Cross Texture Stamp on both sides of card front. Stamp Penny Farthing stamp on white cardstock and trim out. Stamp Craved Leaves and trim out. Add corner to card front. Stamp sentiment from Classic Motorcycles Rubber Stamp set and trim out. Shade all stamped images with ink. Add corners. Create card and adhere to card front. Add Wink of Stella, for shimmer.

Instructions:
Stamp Chicken Wire Background Stamp on white cardstock and trim out. Mount on black cardstock. Mount that on pattern paper. Add corners. Stamp out Carved Leaves (3 long leaf) and trim out. Stamp Penny Farthing stamp and trim out. Stamp sentiment from Simple Sayings Rubber Stamp Set and trim out. Create card and adhere all pieces to front of card. Add Wink of Stella to Carved Leaves. Pine Leaf Eclectic Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Monday, August 10, 2015
Hi there! Today we are sharing some great projects using the Pine Leaf Eclectic Stamp! This stamp is perfect for Christmas cards, but it can also be used with other themes, such as Wilderness, Home Sweet Home and other nature related themes.

Firstly, here's a Christmas card idea by Rachel Greig:

Instructions:
Stamp Pine Leaf onto white cardstock using Archival Olive Ink Pad. Stamp again without reinking to create a lighter shade. Repeat this process around the white cardstock until you have covered it completely. Sponge the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhere to red cardstock. Wrap striped ribbon around the top part of the card and adhere to the back. Stamp Happy Christmas from Dear Santa Vol 2 Rubber Stamp set onto white label using Archival Vermillion Ink Pad. Sponge around edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Adhere to ribbon using 3D adhesive. Adhere entire stamped panel to folded green card to finish!

Robyn Wood said that Christmas cards were the first thing she thought of for this stamp, but then got to thinking of all the other ways it could be used with various Darkroom Door images. This card gives you an option for all year round use.

Instructions:
Stamp Pine Leaf onto white card stock using Distress Inks in Bundled Sage, Forest Most & Pumice Stone. Start with the Bundled Sage and stamp all around the card stock, leaving a white patch in the centre of the card. Make sure you re-ink the stamp each time for clear impressions. Stamp the Pine Leaf again a few times around the edges with Forest Moss. Try not to totally cover the areas that have already been stamped. Do a final round of stamping using Pumice Stone ink and this time make sure that any white left around the border of the card stock is stamped. This will give a full, layered effect. Sponge edges with Pumice Stone ink, layer with dark green and affix to a dark brown card base. Stamp the largest house from Home Sweet Home set onto white card stock using black Archival ink. Add white crayon to parts of the walls and roof of the house and sponge with Distress Ink. Use Frayed Burlap for the walls, a mix of Tea Dye & Vintage Photo for the roof and Squeezed Lemonade for the window. Trim and add to card front. Stamp wording onto white card stock using Graphite Black Brilliance ink and heat emboss with clear powder. Trim into separate phrases, layer with black card stock and mount onto card front using foam tape. Why not try autumn colours of Crushed Olive, Rusty Hinge and Barn Door Distress inks for a different look?

Connie shares two ways to create Christmas cards with the Pine Leaf Eclectic Stamp:

Instructions:
Stamp Pine Leaf on white cardstock with Archival Olive ink. Speckle with brown ink. Stamp the Brushed Star and the sentiment from Merry Christmas stamp set and adhere to the card front. Mount card front on several pattern papers layered. Stamp the zig zag stamp from the Stitched Borders Stamp Set on both sides of the white card front. Add corner piece to bottom of card.

Instructions:
Stamp Christmas Script Background Stamp directly on the card front. Stamp around the Script with the straight stitch stamp from Stitched Borders Stamp Set.  Stamp Stitched Threads Frame Stamp on Kraft cardstock and trim it out. Stamp the Pine Leaf in the center of the Stitched Frame. Stamp another Pine Leaf on Kraft cardstock and trim it out. Use a pop up adhesive and place it over or to the side of the stamped Pine Leaf. Add the Twine. Stamp the Brushed Star and the sentiment from Merry Christmas Stamp Set. Speckle card with brown or black ink.

Daisy Eclectic Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Monday, August 03, 2015
Hi stampers! It's time to take a look at how our new Eclectic Stamps can be used! Today we are sharing projects created with the Daisy Eclectic Stamp

Connie Mercer has created two beautifully layered cards:

Instructions:
Stamp Gazette Background Stamp on white cardstock.  Trim out. Shade around edges with brown ink. Mount on dark cardstock and then mount to pattern paper.  Stamp Daisy Eclectic Stamp on white cardstock.  I used marker pens to add the color to the rubber stamp.  Trim out. Stamp Carved Leaves directly on  the card front. Place the Daisy between the leaves and adhere to card front. Stamp sentiment from Whimsical Word Rubber Stamp Set on white cardstock and trim out. Adhere to card front. Add corners.

Instructions:
Stamp French Script Background Stamp on a dark color cardstock or paper. Trim out.  Stamp the Daisy Eclectic Stamp, Carved Leaves Vol 1 (long leaf and medium single leaf) on white cardstock and trim them out. I inked the Daisy up with marker pens.  Arrange elements on front of card and adhere. Color Daisy with Wink of Stella for shimmer. Add rhinestones and corners to card front. Stamp sentiment from Whimsical Words Rubber Stamp Set and trim out. Add to card front.

Anneke De Clerck has some bright painted cards to share:

Instructions:
Paint the background with green and light blue acrylic paint. Load the Daisy Eclectic Stamp with magenta, lime and orange acrylic paint using your fingers and stamp on a white panel. Glue that panel to the background. Stamp the birthday sentiment from Simple Sayings Stamp Set to the bottom of the card with Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. Add details with a black fineliner and finish off with enamel dots.

Instructions:
Stamp the Daisy Eclectic Stamp with Versamark Ink on a gelli plate print. Heat emboss with WOW embossing powder 'Opaque Bright White'. Stamp the birthday sentiment from Happy Birthday Stamp Set  with Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. Add a washi tape tab.

Instructions:
On this card I used the "iron-off" resist technique. Paint the background with turquoise acrylic paint. Create rows of red dots with paint and a needle tip applicator. Stamp the Daisy Eclectic Stamp with Versamark Ink on a painted panel. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Add a coat of gesso on top and overstamp with the Mesh Background Stamp and StazOn Ink 'Teal Blue'.Remove the embossing powder on the flower using an iron and a paper towel. Add black and white details with fineliners and adhere the panel to the background. Stamp a birthday sentiment from Happy Birthday Stamp Set to the bottom of the card with Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. Finish off with cord, beads and a lime paper scrap.

Suzz Czosek has created a stunning set of gift tags and cards:

Instructions:
Spray Mists over mixed media paper. Mix in yellows, orange, and pink sprays. Let dry. Cut tag from inky background. Stamp Daisy Eclectic Stamp using Versamark on tag. Heat emboss with white embossing paste. Repeat two more times. I added a little to the stem with a versamark pen and drew in the rest of the stem and embossed with white embossing powder. Stamp sentiment from Melody Stamp Set using StazOn ink on vellum. Tear vellum on angle and attach to tag. Spritz ribbon and attach to top of tag.

Instructions:
Stamp Criss Cross Texture Stamp in lime green ink on white cardstock. Mask stem of flower with post it note. Ink up flower with pink ink. Color stem using green Ranger Distress Marker. Stamp flower over Criss Cross background. Cut flower panel and distress edges with distressing tool.  Stamp Thank You from Bright Blossoms Vol 2 Stamp Set using Orange dye ink.  Sponge edges using green ink. Mount on card. Repeat with Blue and Orange Dye ink.

Instructions:
In up flower with soft pink dye ink. Color stem with green marker. Spritz stamp with water. Stamp onto white cardstock. Stamp Memory Quote Stamp using gold ink. Cut panel and attach to white cardbase.

Teresa Abajo and Suzz Czosek have created some fantastic cards to show how these stamps can be used.

Here are Teresa's cards:

For the square card, stamp the Torn Text Background stamp onto dark brown card using Aquatic Splash VersaMagic ink. Cut down to fit a 15 x 15cm kraft card and adhere. Stamp the Grid Background stamp onto mint paper with Coffee ink, sponge with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink, tear a strip and adhere to card. Add layers of corrugated cardboard and hessian, and then the mounted inchie images. Embellish with chipboard cogs and the word from the Steampunk stamp set. Spatter with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain.

Instructions:
For the long tall card, stamp the cogs and word from the Steampunk Stamp Set using Coffee ink onto a 10 x 21cm kraft card. Stamp the Grid Background stamp onto mint paper with Coffee ink and sponge with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink. Adhere to card under a scrap of corrugated cardboard. Add rows of stitching with the sewing machine in between each image, and allow the threads to hang. Adhere this to the card and embellish with chipboard cogs.

Here are Suzz's cards:

Instructions:
Stamp Steampunk Inchies using brown ink on ivory cardstock. Repeat on second panel. Cut out photobooth image. Mount image on brown cardstock. Cut out words form Art De Fleur Wordstrips.
