Fine Leaves Stamp Set Cards

21 August 2017

Hello stampers, Godelieve Tijskens here. I'm happy to have some of my designs in latest release again! Today I'm sharing cards I made with the Fine Leaves Stamp Set.

On this card I used the heat emboss resist technique with Distress Oxide inks

1. Attach all stamps to a large stamping block, Misti or any other stamp positioning tool to stamp them all in one go
2. Stamp with embossing ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Don't remove the stamps from the block, because you will use them again in this position later
3. Swipe Distress Oxide inkpads across a non stick craftsheet, mist with water and drag the heat embossed piece through the ink

4. Let dry, or use a heat tool to speed things up
5. To remove the clear embossing, put a sheet of printer paper onto the stamped piece and use a hot iron to melt the embossing off

6. Ink the stamps, which are still attached to the stamping block, with Distress Oxide inks and over stamp the leaves. It doesn't matter if some of the white parts show up, in fact it looks even better that way.

7. Stamp and heat emboss a Fine Butterfly onto vellum, cut it out and attach to the stamped piece.
8. Add words from the Simple Sayings Vol 2 set, using black Archival ink.
9. Distress the edges using a paper distresser, and glue the finished panel onto a white card.

Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Fine Leaves Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Simple Sayings Vol 2 Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Fine Butterflies Rubber Stamp Set
Embossing inkpad
Distress Oxide inkpads:  Broken China, Peeled Paint
Archival inkpad:  Jet Black

Embossing powder:  Clear and white
Vellum
Large stamping block, or Misti, or any other stamp positioning tool
Non stick craftsheet
Paper distresser
Tiny attacher

I love to create simple 1-layer cards like this one!

1. Mask the left and right side of a card, using sticky notes
2. Stamp the Grid Background stamp using a light ink, such as Archival Ink Shadow Grey
3. Add color using Distress inks Evergreen Bough and Rusty Hinge with an ink blending tool

4. Stamp a leaf several times, using black Archival Ink. Stamp over the edges onto the sticky notes
5. Add a sentiment from the Simple Sayings Vol 2 set
6. Remove the sticky notes and add tiny dots of Enamel Accents to finish off the card

Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Fine Leaves Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Simple Sayings Vol 2 Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Grid Background Stamp
Distress Inkpads:  Evergreen Bough, Rusty Hinge
Archival Inkpads: Shadow Grey, Jet Black

Mini Ink Blending Tools
Enamel Accents:  Electric Lime, Cheese Puff

On this card I used a resist technique again, watercolored with Distress Stains

1. Stamp the leaves with black Archival Ink

2. Use masking fluid onto the parts that you want to keep white. I used masking fluid, but you could use a white crayon
3. Let the masking fluid dry completely.

4. Watercolor the leaves using Distress Stain Twisted Citron & Mowed Lawn
5. Watercolor the background using Distress Stain Iced Spruce & Weathered Wood. Let dry
6. Add texture to the background using the Crackle Texture stamp with Distress Oxide Iced Spruce
7. Stamp Happy Birthday using stamps from the Simple Circles and Happy Birthday sets with Archival Ink Watering Can and cut out
8. Rub off the dried masking fluid to reveal the white cardstock
9. Distress the edges with the Tonic paper distresser
10. Glue the cut out pieces in place and adhere the finished panel to a white card
