Diamond Set Small Stencil Ideas

Darkroom Door - Monday, July 22, 2019

Hi there! Today we are sharing two ways to use the new Diamond Stencil Set! This stencil set consists of a diamond shape stencil with the matching solid shape.

There are lots of different ways you can use this stencil set. Here’s a card idea from Godelieve Tijskens:

Godelieve has sponged ink through the stencil using different Distress Oxide Inks and has created a repeating pattern. She has then used white and black pens to outline the diamond shapes to give them more definition. It’s a stunning way to create a background!

Godelieve has also used the Typewriter and Pencils Eclectic Stamps, Happy Birthday Sentiments Stamp and Calendar Stamp Set. You can read Godelieve’s full tutorial on her blog here.

This card was created by Rachel Greig and it uses the solid diamond stencil (the loose diamond part of the stencil set). Rachel has brushed black paint onto the stencil and pressed it onto the card front to use the stencil shape as a ’stamp’. It’s a great way to create a painterly shape where you’d like a shape, but are happy with it not being a solid full shape. The painterly effect makes it unique! This technique would work well with any of the shape stencil sets!

Rachel then finished the card using stamps from the Artist Brushes Stamp Set
