Grid Texture Stamp Cards

Darkroom Door - Monday, July 16, 2018
Hi, Connie Mercer here with three cards using the Grid Texture Stamp. This stamp is so perfect to tuck behind an image. I love using it that way. Makes for a stunning focal point on the card.

Instructions:
1. Sponge a background for the card base using two different colours of Archival ink and the Polka Dots Stencil.
2. Stamp leaves randomly around the card front. Stamp the Grid Texture Stamp in the centre of the card.
3. Stamp one of the large Garden Birds on white cardstock, and trim out. Shade the Garden Bird with Archival inks.
4. Stamp the sentiments, on a practice stamping of the Grid image. Trim out and adhere with foam squares for added dimension. Speckle with black ink or paint.

Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Grid Texture Stamp
Darkroom Door Stamp Sets: Garden Birds, All Occasions, Carved Leaves Vol.1
Darkroom Door Large Stencil: Polka Dots
Archival Ink: Potting Soil, Cobalt, Jet Black, Buttercup and Fern Green

For this next card I wanted to include the 6 Up Stencil in the design. This is what I came up with

1. Stamp the Boxes 6 upFrame Stamp on white cardstock. Line up the Boxes 6 Up Stencil over the lines. Using the Grid Texture stamp, stamp the image to the inside of each square.
One tip, keep the Grid Stamp straight, makes a difference if you want the grids to be uniform. 2. Stamp the Carved Birds into each grid square. Leaving one open for the sentiment. Mat on red cardstock and then the yellow card base.
3. Stamp sentiment on white cardstock and trim out. Adhere to empty square using foam squares, for added dimension.
4. Speckle with black ink or paint. Easy and so cute!!!

Supplies used:

Darkroom Door Texture Stamp: Grid
Darkroom Door Frame Stamp: Boxes 6 Up
Darkroom Door Stamp Sets: Brushed Sentiments, Carved Birds Vol. 1 & 2.
Darkroom Door Stencil: Boxes 6 Up
Archival Ink: Fern Green, Cobalt, Saffron, Red Geranium and Jet Black.

The next card is using some of the same stamp sets, just in a different way.

1. Spray the front of the card base with Dylusions Ink Spray. Dab off excess ink and let dry or use heat tool to speed up drying time. Stamp the Grid Texture stamp in the centre of the card. Stamp the Carved Birds in a stacked position.
2. Stamp sentiment on white cardstock and trim out. Adhere between Carved Birds. This a go to style for me. Super fast card to create when you don't have much time. Speckle with black ink.

Supplies used:

Darkroom Door Texture Stamp: Grid
Darkroom Door Stamp Sets: Carved Birds Vol. 2, All Occasions.
Archival Ink: Jet Black, Cobalt and Red Geranium
Dylusions Ink Spray: Lemon Zest

Butterfly Note Gift Tags

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, July 10, 2018
Hi, it’s Belinda Spencer here today to share a sweet set of gift tags featuring the stunning Butterfly Note Eclectic Stamp. These are really quick and easy gift tags so you can make up a whole bunch and have them ready to go for that special gift.

Instructions:
1. Take the largest tag stamp from the Tags Rubber Stamp Set and stamp onto some smooth white cardstock. Stamp several in the same colour or use a variety of pretty Archival Ink colours. Here I have used Aquamarine, Cactus Flower, Chrome Yellow, Magenta Hue and Viridian Archival Inks. NOTE: When using a variety of colours, start with the lightest colour first and clean the stamp between each colour to avoid corrupting the colour.

2. Cut out the tags and ink the edges with the same coloured ink. Cut out the hole at the top of each tag. Using the same coloured ink, apply the French Script Background Stamp over the top of the tag. Also add a Paint Splat using the same ink. Add a length of jute or ribbon at the top.

3. Stamp the Butterfly Note Eclectic Stamp using the same ink/s. Fussy cut the butterfly and add to the tag using glue just under the body of the butterfly.

4. Using the same ink again, stamp the ‘To’ and ‘From’ from the Tags Rubber Stamp Set as well as some stars from the Stars Rubber Stamp Set. Cut out each and add to the tag.

Stamping with Grid & Circles Texture Stamps

Darkroom Door - Saturday, July 07, 2018
Hi, it’s Anneke De Clerck here today to share some projects featuring the brand new Grid and Circles Texture Stamps. I love working with the Darkroom Door Texture Stamps. These are the perfect stamps to add layers and interest to an art journal page or card. I’m very happy to see the collection of Darkroom Door Texture Stamps steadily growing!

Instructions

1. Apply shades of grey and white paint to a card panel using a plastic card.

2. Stamp randomly with the Circles Texture Stamp using pink paint.

3. Stamp randomly with the Grid Texture Stamp using black ink. My favourite way to use a Texture Stamp is holding the stamp in my hands, bending it and printing small parts of the stamp at one time.

4. Stamp the daisy straight to the card with black ink. Use the MISTI or a similar stamping platform in order to make a crisp print on the painted background.

5. Stamp dots and circles with small stamps from the Grunge Marks set using pink, cheddar and white paint.

6. Stamp black stripes by using a stamp from the Grunge Marks set and black ink. Use the same ink to stamp the sentiment.

7. Finish the card off by adding small dots using a paint marker.

Instructions

1. Die cut a tag out of Ranger Watercolor Paper using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Tag & Bookplates die.

2. Apply small amounts of diluted grey, pink and cheddar paint randomly, spray water on top with a mini mister and let the paint drip. Make sure to leave some white space.

3. Stamp a flower from the Carved Flowers set straight on the tag using black ink. Use the MISTI or a similar stamping platform in order to make a crisp print on the textured paper.

4. Stamp randomly with the Circles Texture Stamp using Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick.

4. Attach blank paper tape to an acrylic block or other non sticky surface and overstamp with the Grid Texture Stamp using cheddar paint. Adhere torn strips of that tape to the tag after drying.

5. Stamp the sentiment using black ink. Add a piece of ribbon as a tag topper.

Instructions

1. Cut a panel out of Ranger Watercolor Paper. Distress the edges with a paper distresser. Stamp the Grid Texture Stamp on top using Distress Oxide Carved Pumpkin.

2. Stamp a flower from the Whimsical Words set on top of the print using black ink. Stamp the word ‘hello’ at the bottom of the card using the same ink.

3. Stamp the flower again on a scrap of watercolour paper using the MISTI. Leave both card and stamp in place while painting the petals and leaves. Overstamp the print after drying. With the help of the MISTI you can easily paint with an opaque paint without loosing any detail of the stamp. On the right you see an overstamped print.

4. Stamp and paint the heart the same way

5. Assemble the card as shown, use a foam dot to attach the flower.

6. Make a tab by folding a piece of painted ribbon.

Darkroom Door - Monday, July 02, 2018
Hi, it’s Belinda Spencer here today to share an art journal page featuring the awesome NEW Paint Splat Eclectic Stamp. This is just the coolest stamp for adding those arty touches to your art journal, cards, layouts and more. Here I have used the stamp on the title page for my art journal.

Instructions:
1. Use a palette knife to spread a thin coat of white gesso over the art journal page. Allow to dry.

2. Use the palette knife again to add some acrylic ink in contrasting colours. Allow to dry in between each colour.

3. Apply some stamps from the Paint Splats and the Brush Strokes Rubber Stamp Sets using co-ordinating Archival Ink colours. Add some sweet stars from the Stars Rubber Stamp Set too. Allow to dry completely (I left overnight).

4. Apply the Paint Splat Eclectic Stamp to the page using embossing ink. Heat set with super fine white detail embossing powder. Repeat until you have three fabulous paint splats on the page.

5. Using Jet Black Archival Ink, stamp some things that make you happy on extra white cardstock as well as the quote. I used butterflies from the Butterflies Rubber Stamp Set as well as Paint Brushes, Paint Tubes and Pen Nibs Eclectic Stamps. Stamp some more stars as well. Add double-sided tape to the back of all images before fussy cutting each one. Stick onto the page.
