Hi, it's Godelieve here. Autumn has arrived at the northern hemisphere, and it inspired me to create a spread in my art journal, using the Fallen Leaves Background, Carved Leaves Stamp Set and Robin Eclectic stamp.
To do the background:
- I used gesso with the Bubble layering stencil from Tim Holtz.
- Left this to dry and painted the sky with diluted Distress Paints in blue and red.
- I sponged the grass and the edges of the pages with Distress Inks
I stamped the Fallen Leaves Background twice with Archival Ink Jet Black, colored with Distress Paints.
I have used these to cut the circles for the trees, the torn strips at the bottom of the pages, and to cut single leaves
I stamped the bird on tissue paper, and adhered it to the page using matt gel medium
I stamped the Carved Leaves using Watering Can Archival Ink and cut them out. I also cut the trunks from brown cardstock. I glued everything in place to create an Autumn scene.
I removed the Fallen Leaves stamp from the stamping block, inked it with grey Archival ink and stamped onto the pages here and there. I added words, using Tim Holtz seasonal Chitchat stickers and Darkroom Door Alphastrips. I finished off the pages with some doodling.
