Arty Collage Stamps Art Journal Page and Tags

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, February 14, 2017
Hi there! It's Rachel Greig here today sharing an art journal page and two tags using the Arty Circles, Arty Triangles and Arty Hexagons Collage Stamps!

This page started by brayering Dina Wakley Media paints over the background to create a grungy textured painted layer to start with. Then stamp the Arty Circles using a light coloured ink pad to co-ordinate with the paint colours. Next add some washi tape, a few strips along the bottom and top in black and white. I used Tim Holtz ideology tape.

Next stamp the Arty Circles Collage Stamp onto the background using Archival Jet Black ink. This will give a nice contrast to the lighter stamped areas. You can stamp over the washi tape too as the Jet Black ink will dry on the tape.

Ink up the large butterfly stamp from the Wings stamp set using various colours of Distress Inks and lightly mist with water before stamping onto a white tag. Stamp a sentiment from Wildflowers Vol 1 rubber stamp set onto white card stock using Archival Jet Black ink. Adhere tag and sentiment to the art journal page. Draw around the edge of the tag and sentiment with a Distress Crayon and rub to blend it out a little to complete!

Supplies used:
Darkroom Door Arty Circles Collage Stamp
Darkroom Door Wings Rubber Stamp Set
Darkroom Door Wildflowers Vol 1 Rubber Stamp Set
Archival Ink: Jet Black, Viridian
Distress Ink: Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers
Dina Wakley Media Paint: Lime, Lemon
Size 8 White Tag
Distress Crayons
Small Brayer
Tim Holtz Tissue Tape

To use up left over paint, I brayered the paint onto two tags. For the first tag I stamped the Arty Triangles along the left hand side to create a funky border. Then I stamped a quote from the Art De Fleur Vol 1 rubber stamp set. This is a quick and easy tag to create!

Here's a similar tag, this time using the Arty Hexagons Collage Stamp and a quote from Art De Fleur Vol 2 rubber stamp set. I love how the Collage Stamps can be nested into each other to create continuous patterns!
